Hey guys, I'm looking for a compound bow for archery/target practice. Not looking to break the bank. I'm more concerned about accuracy than FPS. I plan on getting fitted by the local archery shop. Any recommendations for affordable compound bows that are accurate enough for some target practice?

Or maybe just larger than I wanted. I ended up getting a Mission Maniac and haven't looked back. I'm pretty new to archery, but I prefer small, light, easily handled rifles, and it translated into Archery as well. |

First get measured up at a pro shop... what is your ideal draw length and what # pull is comfortable. Now, that being said.... There is "some" good news with this bad economy. In my area I cannot believe how many people are selling bows on craigslist. Once you have your measurements, you now have an idea of what you want. My first and FAVORITE bow is my PSE ... which I was stupid to buy because it was not sized for me and had to pay to have it adjusted accordingly.  |
| realistically i dont think its all that stupid to have a new"used" bow set-up for you at a shop when you are just getting into it. I looked at is as cheap insurance that someone that KNEW what they were doing could look it over and make sure it was both safe to shoot and ready to go.Guy also spent quite a bot of time with me at their range and gave me a ton of pointers. Also by doing that i found someone i know im going to go back and deal with over and over because he treated me fairly and honestly |
