I got a chance to shoot 3D targets for the first time today, I went to an indoor range withe probably about 25 3D targets at ranges from 5 to 30 yards. They were layed out in an arcade like settin (I.e scattered all over with the elk &deer targets towards the back). The biggest thing I noticed is that aluminum shafts are way easier to pull out of the targets than carbon. I love my carbon arrows but the couple of aluminum shafts I have are a lot easier to pull out. This was also the first time I shot at unknown distances (I didn't ask the range staff before hand) and it was easier than I expected to estimate the distance and get solid hits.
All in all it was a lot of fun and I'll be going back as soon as I can. |

Wiggling the shafts seemed to work well |

Trick my FIL told me was with 3D targets is to rub the arrows with a bar of soap, makes the arrows come out a WHOLE lot easier. |
