I have read and read and it seems that Surefire 60 rd mags are just hit or miss. Well mine is a forkin miss. Anyway to tune these for Pmag reliability?

WHat ammo are you running. I have round if you run bullets that are 2.230 or under it runs great. Longer than that and bad things happen.

I tried several, including XM193. The problem I have is that I can only get 9 rounds in the mag. No more will go in, then when I try to take those 9 out the follower won't come back up.

Mine has worked great unless I put steel case ammo in it.

Have you tried dissembling the mag and checking where it's hanging up? Look for marks, take measurements.

Mine would not load properly when new. I disassembled and carefully re-assembled following the instructions. now it runs 100%. I use a MagLULA, and I think this might be the key to easy and consistent loading... give one a try.

+1 to using the MagLULA.

You will need to take it apart. Sounds like they assembled it wrong at the factory. I took one of mine apart once for  cleaning and it took me forever to get it back together right.

Did so a couple of times and same thing. Called Surefire yesterday and the said sent it back in. He said there was some quality control problems with some batches.

You have a spring that is fucked up. Take it out and unkink it and you should be GTG. I have three that are all GTG. I recommend pre-loading them and letting them sit before using them. This seems to help with future reliability.
