What pistol are you seeing out there the most?

I have ran two competitions with a G19 and need to find something different.  I have never been as accurate with Glock's as I have other pistols and it isn't more evident than when trying to hit 4" plates at distance.

I am leaning toward an M&P or a PPQ but the mag price of the PPQ is making me take pause.   How accurate are the M&Ps you are seeing out there and how happy are their users with them?

Thanks

XDM, great gun and you can load a s-pot full of ammo in one mag.

friend of mine just picked up a glock 34 for 3 gun, shoots great, follow ups are super easy as well

I don't know anything about the Walther PPQ, but I would bet no one makes a decent set of replacement sights for it.

M&P Pro or Glock 34, decide which feels better.  There is plenty of aftermarket support for sights, triggers and mag extensions for both, the choice is yours.

Walther, HK, and others are fine guns, but not necessarily fit for competition.

I love my Glock 19 but its a carry gun not an ideal competition pistol. Your not going to get a substantial increase over what you hae now with a PPQ, you will be going backwards with an XDM or a M&P in my experience. If you truly want more accuracy from the gun (not talking about your skill) save up for a nice 2011. You could get custom barrels for your Glock etc to get a bit more. But if you really want accuracy a custom 2011 is the way to go.

There are a few CZ's that show up at matches.  I mostly see the Glocks (17,22, 34/35) and XD/m's, then CZ, Beretta 92's, 2011's, ...

as Pat commented, it is very hard to beat a high cap 1911 in 9mm for 3 gun....a 2011STI/.SVI, Caspian, or even Para (with an Aftec extractor).... I switched from a Para /Caspian .45 to a G34 when a properly fitted link broke at Ft Benning....just for the reliability factor...the modern 9mm pistols that incorporate the square chamber to lock into the slide all unlock a little earlier than a 1911 style link system, and are probably a tad less accurate....very hard to beat a 1911 trigger

Most popular guns used by the pros are STI 2011 or SV double stack 1911 styel guns.  Glock 34 and M&P 9 Pro also see a lot of action due to lower cost and ease of dumping them on safe.
