Starting my research for a good 3 gun piece. Going to be hitting the comps hard next year and I am looking for a piece of gear that will not hold me back.
My list so far is this, in no particular order: 1. Benelli M2, either 3 gun edition or one of the worked over small shop editions 2. Remington Versamax Competition Tactical 3. Beretta 1301 Comp Right now my feeling is that these three guns are about equals and it is really user preference. Benelli has the aftermarket support and proven reliability, the other two are gas operated but should be about equal in reliability while being softer shooting. Some aftermarket support for Remington and very little for Beretta. Am I understanding this correctly? Please do not just state a particular model but rather give a reason or two for your choice. When I am sure of which gun I will make the purchase. I am a firm believer in buy once cry once Thanks |

Ok Jesse, I know and have looked into Taran Tatical but what is the deal with Accurate Iron? Website looks like its half finished and there is no shotgun worked mentioned and no way to contact them. What gives? Are you still sponsored by them?

Best way to reach him is via phone or on Facebook or BoomerShooter.com forum. I'll drop you a PM with his contact info. |

Wow dude, before you imply a guys a liar maybe you should do a bit of research. I know the best ARs are Stags, er, um, Rhino, the best cleaning rods are Dewey, the best shotgun is Benelli/Stoeger, and the best shooting facility is Rockcastle. Take any advice from someone paid to shoot a particular product with a grain (or two) of salt. |

I bought a Benelli M2 from Taran Tactical after doing some research, and seeing that the top shooters use the M2. I usually work 1 very large east coast 3 gun match (360 shooters). I've done this for the last 4 years. Each year, I have noticed more and more shooters that have the TTI tramp stamp on their M2. I have directly influenced 3 shooters in my area to buy the TTI M2. It is not just Jesse saying that Benelli's are great. I don't have any experience with the Stoeger so I can't comment. Shooters are saying that the M2 is great. I have even noticed that Daniel Horner is shooting a Taran Tactial M2 now. |

There was a big pile of Benelli shotguns on the prize table at the Gen III Gun match which raised a lot of money for junior shooters.
Great performance aside, that alone is a great reason to support Benelli. This is coming from a dinosaur who is still weak hand loading an FN SLP. Remember when those were popular?
(I love that shotgun.) |

I'm going to contour the rear of my handguard some more and order either some AP or Invictus quad loaders soon. I'm not going to quit weak hand loading because I love beating people on big stages when they go prone and all their shotgun shells fall off, but for some stages quad loading is undeniably better.
The weak hand from the AP 4x4 will remain in the mix. |
