I have an old M1 Super 90, its very hard to push the shells past the shell stop when trying to speed load.  I was thinking about cutting the small spring under the shell stop. I'm looking for help any ideas.  Thanks

Don't cut the little spring under the shell stop.  You're best bet is to work on the shell-stop itself.

Options to modify:
Give it a slight bend, so it catches the shell rim less.
Enlarge the two U-shaped cuts in the shell stop, so that it will bend easier as you're loading shells.
Use a dremel on the shell-stop, to cut a small groove that will let the shells pass by easier.  Also can polish this up nice and shiny.

I simply bend mine a little bit snd polish it up.  There is a fine line between shells staying in the gun and shells flying past the shell catch.

Thanks for the feedback.  I have 2 M1 Super 90s.  The other one when I checked it out did not have the problem with the reload  I moved the hardware around and will use that gun this weekend. Again thanks

like jesse mentioned its pretty easy to polish it up and put the latch itself in a vice right where the notches are cut out and bend it ever so slightly.  reinstall and test.. repeat if necessary.
