| I am about to go do my first 3 gun match in a month or two I right now have a Smith and Wesson M&P 15 with Burris Tac 30 mounted on the top. Now I want to get a set of iron sites to mount with them and I saw that they have angled ones off to the side. Would my rifle still be allowed to run with my optic and iron sites? |

you will be in the same division with or without them.
Like others will say, you dont need them with a true 1x. I find that some dont realize you can use the fine adjustment on the scope to dial it in to a true 1x and its almost as fast as a red dot! You may find that, like my offset irons on my new 3-gun rifle, you don't use those irons often at all. The only time right now where I see them being advantageous is if I were shooting a stage where I had long range, then short, then long, then short, then long......I could keep my scope set at 2-3x and just roll the guy as I moved. Otherwise I find it faster to shoot with the scope on 1x on everything out to 75-100yds. |

I run the Dueck Defense Offset Irons in Tac Optics. They are nice when you have to engage close targets and then long range targets without much time in between long and shirt target arrays. Taking the time to move your throw lever back and forth is free time. I also have forgotten to adjust the scope back and forth which is another huge time killer.
I must admit I don't use them frequently so they aren't a must have item but when you need them they are very nice. |
