[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Sig MCX potential for 3 Gun?

Just wanted to hear what some of the pros and cons of using a Sig Sauer MCX carbine for a 3 Gun rifle would be? I'm well aware that AR-15s are currently the end-all, be-all of competition rifles, I'm just curious what people think about the MCX as a potential alternative to an AR?

If you have it shoot it a few matches, but once you get into it you'll need an AR, better selections of parts especially triggers.

I may be completely pulling this out of my ass but I seem to recall that the MCX uses standard AR trigger assemblies - Aftermarket AR triggers are compatible.

It will be fine. The MCX is similar to an AR and does share some parts (mags, trigger, grip). It won't be as good as a purpose-built competition rifle, but it will work just fine. Until you feel like features of the MCX are slowing you down, shoot it.
