Need the experts' advice here. Got a used Warne RAMP mount on EE, price was great! I really don't want to get rid of my Duecks. The mount straddles the receiver and the handguard. (see pic below). I heard this is not recommended. Thanks for any input.

I'm not a big fan for the longer range precision stuff.  If your just shooting close up club match stuff you should be fine.  Unfortunately the Warne RAMP mount doesn't give that extended eye relief needed on many scopes.  You should try Vortex ADR-X Mount from Optics Planet.  Use discount code TISC556 to get 5% off.

Why not move the optic back and mount the offset irons forward. That or if it's just that back section of the mount that's in the way, cut it off if you aren't using it.

Cool! It'll have to work for now, just shooting the local mostly up close club matches. Upgrading from my Moss 500 persuader pump tops my list currently. Also I think, moving the Dueck rear sight forward would slow down sight alignment due to a very lenghthy eye relief(for lack of a better term). Right now, the optic eyebell  and the rear peep are lined up. i also don't feel right chopping up a perfectly good R.A.M.P. mount. Thanks for the inputs, Sirs - truly appreciate it.

I think you can get more eye relief from the scope if you flip it around and mount the scope in it backwards as well.

2nd on flipping the mount, I two rushed on the idea of the warn mount with 45 built right in without really thinking to much about it at the time and used it for a while but hated it the whole time, it really messed with the balance of the rifle, you can not mount any iron sight or even an Aimpoint and not even a Trijicon RMR to it while a scope was mounted, the only thing I was able to get to work slightly was a riser but sight was to high, had to flip it after a couple of months not being able to use the 45 which improved the 45 capabilities but ocd reasons one it bothered me it was backwards and two the weight of the rifle never felt right, ur better off with another mount, I personally love the Bobro extended mount, second is Larue, my warn is now just sitting in my garage until I can find a use for it which I have a feeling might never happen

You have a 1-6x with a throw lever.....  ditch the angled sights and move your mount back off your handguard if eye relief will permit it.

If you can't get proper eye relief with that mount, sell it and get an ADM or Larue.  My Vortex Razor is parked in an ADM mount, great stuff.
