FireClean lately.....easy cleanup and hasn't caused me any issues yet......plus I have 3-4 bottles of it from matches.

I always used whatever I had that was free.  Until I was given some FIREClean.  This stuff is good enough that I would pay for it.  I can't say that for anything else I've used.

No smell, stays where you put it, cuts carbon very well.  I don't know that it's the best lube out there because I haven't tried them all, but it's my favorite so far.

I am loving the Fireclean too and I got 3-4 bottles for free from the owners at a few major matches.  Hard to not support someone that is at the match supporting us.

I have some CLP and Slip 2000 and it is good stuff. I also have some Remoil that I use.  I usually clean my gun after every round so I don't really notice a difference in performance between the high end stuff and something like remoil.  And I always use Hoppes 9.

I would guess that if I went long periods of time between cleanings and lubrication, then some of the higher end stuff might work better for me.

I forgot to add that after following the Fireclean instructions for use by costing everything and letting it soak into the metal I can literally wipe my parts clean.  No more scrapping bolts.  It's pretty amazing stuff.

I've only been using it a few months and Frog Lube does the same. I coated  my bolts with the paste and hit it with a heat gun a couple times to season it and now it just wipes clean. Works particularly well in my MP 15-22, no more leading buildup.

I haven't tried Fireclean yet.

The one nice thing about Frog Lube is when traveling in my tent trailer or at a hotel for a match weekend. When I come back and clean my guns it doesn't stink up the room. It has a minty fresh aroma.

Used to do light coat of wheel bearing grease followed by spray of white lithium.  Messy, but it would catch all the gunk and wipe clean pretty nicely.  Could run rifles easily over 1000 rounds without worry....ran my 3gun rifle to 1800 rounds before cleaning it.

A few months ago, I switched to FireClean and haven't been disappointed at all.  It leaves the actions really smooth and stays in place better than I would have predicted.  Most noticeable for me was how it cleaned up .22lr guns much more easily than in the past with other stuff.

Slip 2000 for me. I don't clean my guns until about 3-4 matches or when they start feeling sluggish. Usually 300rds and I don't lube in between. So far so good in my ARs.

I've switched to Frog Lube... I like how it keeps the carbon emulsified. It's super slick, organic, and it smells nice to boot...

I lube with BreakFree, and I clean the inside of the AR with it as well, [not the inside of the barrel].

I have been to several schools where we shot over 1000 rounds in a day, a lot of it full auto when using my Work gun, and I have never had an AR go down using BF.

In order to make my rifles and especially the Gas Rings last as long as possible I usually lube the gas rings through the 2 little holes in the bolt carrier, and the rails in the upper every 200 rounds or so.

I have, just for testing gone as long, as 600 rounds or so with just whan I consider my normal carry "lube job". No problems.

However I think IF I could carry more than 600 rounds, or new I would be resupplied with more ammo, I can certainly carry a couple of the .68oz bottles of BreakFree.

Mercury Outboard Quicksilver 2 stroke racing oil.... it dissipates carbon

I'm with Pat, 5w-30 motor oil.

I use a mixture of heavyweight (80) syn gear oil and syn Trans Fluid.  Ratio is 75% Gear, 25% Trans.  Stays well lubed, and the trans fluid is a high temp detergent, it keeps the carbon emulsified without caking.  Smells like a dirty motor for the first few rounds, but works great.  I can spray off all parts, and haven't touched a scraper to the bolt or lug channel for a long time. Little bit of rem clean or brake clean and a rag, a few Q-Tips and good to go.

I've used Italian gun grease and frog lube, the Italian gun grease doesn't cook off, and has zero odor.I like both, and believe if i needed to treat a weapon for moisture protection i'm on w frog lube for crummy outdoor conditions.Since using Italian GG im on w it, just used it on a shotgun no dirt attraction, stayed on the bolt and lugs nice adhesive properties...

If I got a bottle free to try I would use it. 30.00 bucks for 4 oz. seems kind of steep.

Anyone use Brian Eno's Slide Glide Lite? My good friend who I also shoot with has a lot of extremely nice setups and they are the absolute smoothest functioning guns I have ever felt after he works them over and he uses Brian Eno's stuff I was going to get some too

I use it on any of the high wear bearing sufaces.  Bolt carrier rails, bolt cam pin, and locking lugs (on a new gun during break-in).

ETA:  My current go to combo is now Slide Glide and Rand CLP.  Slide Glide everywhere I mentioned and a light coating of Rand over everything.

Not sure if it's snake oil salesman talk, but not only does Rand work with other lubes it lowers friction, per the manufacturer, in those lubes as an additive.  Carbon cleanup seems pretty efficient too.

Same here.  I've been using Frog Lube for the past year and love it.  The first time you need to remove all the old oil then coat everything; heat it up, let it soak.  Everything is always clean plus it smells awesome and I don't feel like I'm getting cancer.  The other plus is my wife doesn't yell at me for trying to kill her in the hotel room after every match.

The other way to keep everything super clean and stop scraping bolts is to get an ACR.  Just thought I'd throw that out there lol.  If you want to try some Frog Lube, I've got a few individual use tubes I can send you.  Honestly it stretches pretty far I've been using the same small jar for a year through 12 firearms, weekly practice and monthly matches.

If you don't want to spend a fortune on "gun specific" lubes that work out to about 75 bucks a quart, just do a 50/50 mix of synthetic motor oil and some ATF.  It works great for me and my guns!
