| Monday I leave for Texas on an unguided, landowner requested hog hunt. Do I need a hunting permit? |
|
If you're hunting for 5 days or less you need a Non-resident 5 Day Special Hunting License that costs $48.
If more than 5 days then you need the standard Non-resident Special Hunting License that costs $132. There is an exception: Exceptions: a hunting license is not required to hunt the following:
Depredating feral hogs, if a landowner (resident or non-resident) or landowner's agent or lessee is taking feral hogs causing depredation on the landowner's land. However, this does not exclude you from meeting the Hunter Safety requirement. If you don't have Hunter Safety and need it you can pay $10 and get an exemption for 1 year. Question....Are you paying or in any other way compensating the land owner in exchange for being allowed to hunt hogs? If the answer is no then technically you don't need a hunting license. |

Slight highjack but I recently found out it's illegal to hunt feral hogs in KS. Very dissapointed, but good luck on your hunt. Yeah, they're worried that if they allow it then people will transport hogs up there and release them to hunt. But, since there are already hogs in Kansas and more on their way then what they're doing is pretty much futile and they know it. I spoke with a guy at the Kansas Department of Wildlife about it when I was doing some research for the site. They used a bunch of guys in helicopters to kill all of the ones they could find but it's only a matter of time before they're there in greater numbers and if the deer hunters are just having to watch them walk by because it's illegal to hunt them then there gonna get established pretty quickly cause there ain't enough time, money or helicopters for them to kill them all. Before long yall will get to hunt them just like everybody else. |

I even built a 7.62X39 AR in anticipation before I checked the law. |

Sheet. I paid $48 when I didnt need to? Dang it Yes you didn't untill the GW wrote you a ticket...then weeks later fly back into TX. and you prove yourself in the court house with written permit from the land owner while he was present, actualy you needed power of attorney over the land to be sure and that wasn't going to happen. As already stared the money goes for good things..I hate a poacher..its at the top of my list. Every time a GW stops a hunter they are armed, right, not a easy feeling I'd say. edit; I'll go ahead and say it... i've already seen two different fucks spot lighting...Ask Fritzcat how fast I ran towards one of them...going to get them bitches. Either hold them for the GW or just get a pix and the tag # |
