Well finally got all the deer hunters out of the woods.
Since the weather here in central Texas was perfect for hog hunting I decided to go check some of the more remote feeders. I saw fresh hog sign everywhere. I slipped up on a ground blind with a feeder and I was opening the door when I herd a splash under the feeder and sure enough I could see a hog moving fast through the cedars. I thought he was going to get away, but he stopped and lifted his nose to try and get my sent. That was all it took. 300 gr TTSX out of my 458 Socom hit him right in the cheek just below his ear. It sounded like you had hit a sack of nickels with a bat. I saw his feet go straight up in the air and I new he was DRT.
I was suppressed when I got over to him. I am guessing he will go between 250 and 300 lbs.

Went back to measure that boar today and while we were rolling that stinking thing around we noticed a bulge on his sholder. (pic 1)
The lump was my Barnes 300 TTSX bullet (pic 2 cleaned up)
The bullet traveled 17 inches (pic 3)

The hogs chest measured 46 inches around just behind the front legs.

Nice Pig.

Another instant SOCOM kill.

The 405 Remy and the Barnes 300 gr. TTSX are two of my favorites for hogs (I know they are for you too).

And for the other pigs out there, a word of advice: NEVER LOOK BACK!

Never, ever, ever look back One more step and this guy would have been gone.
I am liking these Barnes bullet more and more. I wont ever quit using the 405, but it might not get as much play as it used to.

No, me either.

The 405 gr. Remy and the Barnes 300 gr. TTSX.. BOTH have secure places in my reloading cabinet.

I have to work up a load for the 300 TTSX. I have 200 bullets I purchased from midsouth and I am about out of the loaded ones I purchased from SBR.
I have been watching all the post about the TTSX so I wont have to do too much blind experimenting.
