Is the Ruger mini 30 (new model) a good gun for hog hunting?, I've got plenty of 5.56 AR's I just don't see it being a good hog caliber.  Now 762x39 should be good, any first hand opinions.

Look here then reconsider
Also, I'm assuming you aren't still over in Afghanistan? The mini- series was never known for its accuracy. I'd say go for a 6.8spc or a 7.62X39 AR over a mini-30. JMO.

Dont see why it wouldnt be. As long as you can place a round in the kill zone, i'd say you're GTG. I would aslso say that the .223 would be fine too...

I have been using a mini 30 for years with Wolf 122 grain HP black box.  Works great.  Better than my AR15's in .223 have worked.
