He's a good looking pup. What part of SD are you in? I have been going out to Rockham, SD the last 5 years to pheasent hunt. I am not going to SD this year as we are heading out to NE this year for Sharpies and Chickens. It should be a good trip. We will be going the first full week of Oct. so it won't be long.

Thanks. Those pictures are a bit old but he is at or over 100lbs now solid. I cant wait to see him haul in a big honker this season.

Im right in Sioux Falls but we do some hunts up by miller for clients. I hunt here around the area a little but go back to SW MN where Im originally from for most duck/pheasant hunting.

Unfortunately its hard to find hunting land around here without people wanting to charge you. Back in MN people wave you on through without a second thought

The farm we hunt has a house that we rent out and hunt there 17,000 ac. of land. They mainly raise Angus with a lot of crops too. It runs us $100 a person a day to stay at the house and hunt the land. I like staying in a house a heck of a lot more then a hotel. We have got into some Sharpies and Huns on the farm too. Lots of Pheasents around.

Not a bad gig at all. Especially if they are wild birds(alot of pen raised crap at alot of the places)

Three shooters, three hours, 31 doves for the smoker...

My first dove with the .410.  I got three more with it that day, but I got a double and had to go looking for a cripple that landed in tall grass on the other side of a cross fence and I didn't get back before dark.  I didn't find the bird either.

Four shooters, three hours, 54 doves on the tailgate.

Great looking dog and good haul on the birds. What part of Montana are you in? Hows the bird population been this year?

This last September there was no snow yet up here on the North Slope of Alaska, so the Ptarmmigan who had already changed their feathers for the winter stood out like a sore thumb on the tundra.  Easy work for my Beretta.

I started another thread looking for taxidermy mount ideas. I posted my brother's mount from last year.
I liked the way it looked. Going out again a buch for the holiday season. So we'll see what I can bag. Best bird wins and the remainder get freezer bagged for later consumption.

annual trip to saskathewan, canada duck/goose hunt...got jewelry this year...banded in alberta in 2005, taken in sept 2009, and the last pic, blew my barrel off my super black eagle (1st gen with the 4th shell trick), pulled trigger, and barrel popped off separating from the barrel ring, talk about scare the $hit out of you...sent gun back to benelli, they had to make sure i wasnt shooting hot handmade loads (which i wasnt, normally use winchester #2 or BB in 3 1/2"), benelli welded a new barrel ring on and refinished the barrel for me, and had it back in under 2 weeks...impressive service!!!

ringnecks are very pretty ducks. I got my first one last year and wanted to get it mounted but a buddy told me they were pretty common. I shot a scuzzy one since but the first one was damn nice.

Went to ND last weekend on a duck hunting trip and got froze out after the first day. Everything froze solid and the ducks went right over us to about 1 hour south of where we were at. My friends did get a bunch of blue bills/redheads/buffleheads though before it froze. I got 3 buffleheads and a hen ringneck.

We went back to SW MN to try our luck and got a hen Can/couple of teal/hen ringneck/3 snows.
