I know there are many specially designed/marketed "varmint" bullets available, but...
I have several hundred Hornady 75gr. BTHP match bullets I could load.
The dirt pigs I can shoot range from little ones to big fat fucks that I'd estimate weigh in at 20lbs...
Would these hollow point "match" bullets be an okay choice or should I get off my cheap ass and go buy some vmax or similar..?

In my experience they work but they just put holes in them and they can usually run off missing a limb or with a hole on them. I switched to 55gn V-Max and my buddy shoots 55gn Nosler Ballistic tip and they work great!!!!

+1
Also the match bullets ricochet easier than the varmit type bullets, may or may not be a concern where you shoot.

Good point...
'Shootin' on farm land so probably a good idea to do whatever one can to mitigate errant bullets...

Thanks for the input

Midway's Dogtown bullets are what I like to use on ground hogs, they're cheap enough (55 grain, 500 for $60) to do lots of load development and exterminating.

75gr. BTHP.. They do work but perhaps a true varmint boolit is a better way to go...

I use black hills 68gr MHP and they literally do more damage than 55gr V-max's

Im sure your rounds will do the trick.

I use some lighter bullets 40-45 grain and they rip em up. I have some soft tip hornady that I bought from bass pro a couple of years ago that works great.
