I know there are many specially designed/marketed "varmint" bullets available, but...
I have several hundred Hornady 75gr. BTHP match bullets I could load. The dirt pigs I can shoot range from little ones to big fat fucks that I'd estimate weigh in at 20lbs... Would these hollow point "match" bullets be an okay choice or should I get off my cheap ass and go buy some vmax or similar..? |

Quoted:
In my experience they work but they just put holes in them and they can usually run off missing a limb or with a hole on them. I switched to 55gn V-Max and my buddy shoots 55gn Nosler Ballistic tip and they work great!!!! http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k498/NoHair2/DSCN2544.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k498/NoHair2/red178amax.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k498/NoHair2/red4.jpg +1 Also the match bullets ricochet easier than the varmit type bullets, may or may not be a concern where you shoot. |
