We have some mangy coyotes around here and I leave a lot of them lay after i shoot them. I was thinking of taking a trophy just to keep track of numbers. Maybe a K9(tooth) or tail.

Anyone do this?

Tails, skulls, pelts - that's about the only trophy I've ever taken from a coyote, though I don't keep anything anymore but pictures.

Take a tooth? Sure, why not - but I guarantee a fun time cutting one out while in the field.

I have 1 skull, a bunch of the canine teeth, and half as many tails. I do the same with squirrels, as far as tails at least, not teeth

Cover the pads in duct tape to keep from breaking the teeth. I take a fang from each kill to keep count. Last time I counted the jar I was at 47.

Thats exactly what I had in mined. I carry a multi-tool with pliers that could work I think. If not I could just drop a bolder on its head. Thanks for the duct tape idea.
