I just got my first ever Bobcat and the second one I have ever seen. I must admit I studied rizzo's blog for help and direction. I knew this cat was around as we have been seeing tracks for months. All our small game disappeared with the goosemans geese. I seen a huge(to me) Tomcat 5 weeks ago but the season didn't start untill Dec. 1 so I passed on the shot. I went out in front of the camp 30 mins before sun down and started working out on the rabbit in distress call and this little girl came strolling up the road.
I nailed her at about 10 feet with my Bushmaster 5.56, I am now totally hooked on predators. This is the very first time I have had any success calling anything. I have deer and turkey calls laying around that have never got me anything so this is a very big deal to me. Thanks Glen for all the help you gave me, indirect as it may be.

Here is a better pic of the cat and some of the skull

Awesome! Now you know why the rest of us are so dang hooked on it! And for your first kill to be a bobcat, that's just even better. Add in that it came into 10 feet with a hand call - that's a heck of an experience.

Congrats on the cat, welcome to the addiction, and glad I was able to be of some help. If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Oh and did you skin it out?

I skined this baby nose to toes and I am now trying to find a place to tan the hide. I almost fell over with the quotes I got for full mount. This is a small 14lb female that I suspect was a kitten in the spring. I am holding out for the big tom for a full mount. Thanks to all for the encouraging words. I also cleaned the skull and will post a pic when I get my camera back.

Check out USA Foxx - I have sent a number of pelts to them for tanning. Should cost you around $60-$70.

Thanks Glen I will check them out. I added pics of the cat and skull in the op. Check out the skull. I took it from a raw skull to totally clean in 24 hrs using the slow cook method as I do not have the bugs. I have been using regular peroxide with good results. Here is a pic of my first experiment with a little 6 point from last year.

Those skulls look great - you should post them over in the Skulls thread.
