First, what is the best shotgun ammo to use, if you use a shotgun?

Second, I've got a new Foxpro moving decoy coming tomorrow.  Is it best to just let the decoy keep moving, or vary it?  If varying it is best, then what interval?

Ok, sorry, that was three questions.

Thanks!

3" #4 buck and a full or similar choke (see the shotgun thread in this forum).

Let the decoy move the whole time, just not at top speed. A little movement is all you need.

Thanks!!  I'm giving it a go on Monday, and I might go with the shotgun, depending on where I decide to hunt.  How far out will the shotgun be effective with this load?  I'm guessing 35 to 40 yards max?

My Remington 870, 26" barrel, Extra Full RemChoke, and 3" #4 buck = dead coyotes at 60 yards.

4 buckshot is the way to go with a shotgun.  I use a full choke.

I have used buckshot in the past but I don't think it patterns very well. The last 2 seasons I've been using #5 or #6 Turkey loads. The #6 shot were 3" federal , the #5 were 2 3/4". This year I stocked up on the #5's. I haven't shot a coyote with these loads but dozens of foxes and raccoons have been taken all have dropped in their tracks.
