OK, so I am going to try some trapping; you guys have me hooked and I haven't even started yet!

I’m going to go with some Bridger #2 CS Offset Jaw with 4 springs, and a Duke DP coon trap. I’ll be going after foxes/coyotes/coons.  I’ll be setting dirt-hole land sets to begin with.  My question is this; since I will be setting on land only, do I need to both dye and wax the traps or is just one or the other enough?

Dye and wax serve two different purposes.  The dye is to help protect the metal from rust (it'll get some rust anyway) and to camo the trap a little.  Some guys say if it's going under dirt it doesn't need the color, it's a personal preference thing.  The wax is primarily used to "speed up" the trap.  It acts as a lubricant.  I dye and wax, but it's your call.

Thanks for the information! Makes sense... In all the videos I've watched and sites I've read, nobody had provided that info. Go hive!

You want a little rust before you dye.
Need to remove the factory oils, etc first as well.

And GOOD LUCK!
