Went out this evening trying to call in some yotes. Either I'm really bad at "hiding" or my call sucks. I'm leaning towards the latter at this point. Need to pick up some hand calls. The el-cheapo electronic isn't cutting it. Tons of sign around. Fresh prints in the mud and sand. Didn't see a single thing.
Oh well, any day in the outdoors is a good day! Check out the sunset on my way back to "civilization". The picture off my cell phone really doesn't do it justice. 
On a side note: Any of you guys know anything about birds? I was sitting on a water hole (scouting for Dove yeehah!) and as the sun started to set, these little birds kept flying in and scooping bugs off the water. They were about the size of a dove, but skinny, and with long thin wings. White stripe on the wings parallel to the body. Heads looked almost owlish, but more hawkish. They came buzzing in at high speed, but the would slow to almost a hover (without wing flap) and pick up a bug, then haul out again. Neat little birds. Just wonder what the heck they were... |

Just keep at it, something will happen and then a light bulb will go off and you will figure it out.
When I started Muskie fishing I asked questions, read articles and everything and still didn't figure it out and then a guy gave me the best advice, JUST FISH !!! I did "Just Fish" and then all of a sudden I caught 2 and started to see a pattern and I have been doing better and learning more ever since so I will give you the same advice. JUST HUNT 
Oh, and we will never totally figure these damn yotes out, it is tough hunting them here in Ohio so I know it is tough all over, those damn yotes are pretty smart |
