Got my first one on Friday with the AR, a decent doe at about 40 yards using the Barnes ammo with the TSX bullets.  I shot her broadside in the left shoulder and it punched through the other shoulder.  The exit wound was big enough to put my finger into.  I'm at work now, but I'll post a picture later.

Oh yeah, forgot to add that:  she stumbled/ran about 20 yards before she went down.

It was a .223, the 55 grain Barnes TSX factory load.  I ground some for burger today and butterflied the backstraps for steaks.  They're marinating in the fridge right now

Awesome! I've been using an AR for a couple years now with great success. I use the factory loaded Federals with Nosler Partitions. I've had great luck with mine for a small deer gun

Good to hear the review. I just loaded up some 70 gr tsx rounds today. Keeping my fingers crossed for this weekend.

Here's a pic.  Sorry for the poor quality, my son took it with my wife's smart phone.

Good job. Do it 100 more times and being friends.
