| I have been using Barnes 250? Grain Hollow-Point Sabots in the past for my muzzleloader. These have gotten expensive/hard to find. What do you guys recommend for 50 caliber sabots for hunting whitetail? |

What do you guys recommend for 50 caliber sabots for hunting whitetail? I have been using Powerbelts in mine. I've shot countless deer using them, and they have performed extremely well. |

I like powerbelts to. If nothing else they are the EASIEST bullet to load in my Omega.
I've also loaded w/Hornady XTP's in a sabot, And shot all my deer (while muzzleloading) with Shockwave or SST's. XTP's were the damndest things to get down the bore and the SST's are somewhere in the middle as far as ease of loading. SST's however have absolutely post holed every deer I've shot with them. I mean flop over dead right there flop. |
| Last year I used Barnes and I loved them, very accurate at 100 yards. However, I absolutely cannot shoot more than once without full on cleaning the barrel. My friend swears by powerbelt and says they are easier to load and you can load them into a not perfectly cleaned barrel just in case you need a follow up shot. What has your experiences been with powerbelt accuracy? |

Switched to Kinght's 260 gr all lead HP over 90 gr 2F YEARS ago, after trying most everything else.
Between me ,wife and kids, proably taken over 75 deer with this combo and it works GREAT! Seems like they dried up when Knight closed , but fortunately, I have PLENTY. |

Have used the 295 gr. HP Powerbelt for the last 10 years out of a T/C Encore. Killed a few deer with it. Decent performance on game. With the original Encore 209x50 barrel, I shot 1-1.5" groups at 100 yards. Switched to a Pro Hunter barrel three seasons ago, best I could get was around 2-2.5". All of this using Triple 7 FFG.
Made the decision after last season to switch to the T/C Shockwave and Blackhorn 209 powder. Did a little shooting last last season, performance was good and loading was much easier after multiple shots with the BH209. Probably going with 200 gr. Shockwave this season. Not unusual for me to be presented with a 200-250 yard shot during muzzleloading season. That BH209 makes the Encore quite rifle-like. |

I could never load anything after a shot other than Powerbelts. Try the Blackhorn 209. |
