Because of my schedule this year I only had three days to hunt. I passed on a spike buck on opening day (the only deer I saw), and I didn't see anything last week, but the third times the charm! I used my Finn 1970 'Sneak' M-39 with 203 grain SP Silver Bear ammo. This doe showed up about an hour and a half after sunrise, it was behind me, at my 7 o'clock position. She caught wind of me so I put a bullet it the front of her neck above the sternum. The shot was from about 35 yards; the bullet shred the lungs and lodged in the right lower ribs. The doe made it about 20 yards on three legs and expired quickly.

This was also my first time butchering my own deer. It was a learning experience, but I got as much meat off of it as the local processor gets.

The picture is blurry but you get the idea.

Here's a clear picture of the rifle.

nice mosin RickNoon, and who says a 34 year old rifle that costs about $100 dosent get the job done? mine's 64 years old and it did the job nicely at 125-150 yards.
