| Well modern gun season ended in my county on Monday and I didn't fill my tag so I'm already looking forward to muzzleloader season in December. I have never owned one so need some suggestions on what to look for in a new smoke pole. I prefer stainless with a synthetic stock and would like to keep it well under $300 and around $200 would be better. What say the experts?? |
| I use a Thompson/ Center .50 Cal White Mountain Carbine for 90% of my deer hunting- most shots are under 50yrds and this a great gun for this. It is light, short barreled, good sights.... I use 75 gr powder and a 45cal sabot. Recoli is light with this load and unless you take bad shots, the deer drop in 20-30 yrds of the shot. Saw one at the pawn shop that I almost got the other day. they wanted $150 for it. |
