So, I have way too many SBCs lying about, a CHIP, 2 Raspberry Pis, and now a Pine 64... I need something to do with them! So I figured playing around with ALE, which I've been wanting to play with for a while now. However, I'm not made of gold, nor have I been lucky enough to have a Codan fall in my lap, so I'm in need of a homebrew solution. I can't seem to find much out there as far as software, though. There's a 3-years dead Sourceforge for a Linux ALE implementation, but I'm surprised there isn't more out there.

Anyone know where to start on this beyond PC-ALE? http://hflink.com/software/

Could always buy a used Micom if you want an actual radio with it built in.

They are often fairly reasonable on eBay.

PC-ALE is the only game in town. It's Windows only, not open source, and basically doesn't work very well.

Yup... Buy a commercial radio if you want ale. And then realize no one in HAM land uses it.
