I'm looking to possibly build another HF Radio kit.
I have a K3 and a KX3 and have built a K2 in the past, and a BiTX20a I'm curious as to what is out there, something more along the line of the BiTX20a bit with a far better vfo Any suggestions? |

What modes are you looking for? If CW only, then the K1 is probably the answer, and I suspect it will remind you of building the K2. If you want SSB, I don't have any idea what to pick, other than another K2.
Quoted:
How do you like the K3? I'm looking at getting one. If you don't mind used, I think you can find a real bargain right now. Many guys are selling their perfectly good K3 to buy the newer K3s. And I'm not sure if you can really tell any difference in the performance. Some of them are only a couple of years old. I've seen several for sale on the Elecraft Reflector. Just be sure to ask if it has all of the upgrades. |

SSB as far as the Used K3's yes I've seen people selling them to be able to upgrade to the K3s I'm not convinced it's worth the price to upgrade, My K3 is more capable than me |

I'm hanging on to my K3. With the synthesizer upgrade, I think the performance is almost identical. BTW, I have the SSB option in my K2, and it works very well. |

The K2 is a very nice radio, I really liked mine. |

How do you like the K3? I'm looking at getting one. The K3 is a great radio. I've had mine for a little over 2 years. I did have a problem with it, but they fixed it to my satisfaction. It was an intermittent problem that they couldn't replicate on the bench, so they let one of their Big Gun OPs take it home for a contest. He found it very quickly! |

I recently had an issue with my Amp, I sent it in and told them to Keep it until it was fixed It seems much better now |

How are you with soldering small components?
The mcHF kit looks like a really cool product but I'm afraid it is beyond my soldering capability. http://www.m0nka.co.uk/

Any others? If the primary objective is to build an HF transceiver kit you haven't seen before, there's the DZKit Sienna
It's optioned to the moon: headless, internal PC, front panel, 10 or 100W, filters, etc. SMD parts come installed, you just do the through-hole. |

Here is a kit I built for an elderly friend unable to do it himself.
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_10_22/679471_Building_the_Hardrock_50_amp_for_QRP_rigs.html While not what you are looking for, there are still some neat kits out there, such as the Sienna listed above, and this Hardrock 50. |

If you don't mind SDR's then there is the newly released Omnia. (This is a redone peaberry SDR) I've built the DIY basic which has all parts SMT and through hole components installed by the end builder. I've got a Semi DIY kit as well. 98% of the SMT parts are installed already, with the through hole and band specific parts left to be installed. No sound card needed for this and my 30/20/17/15 works well with slightly low output o the upper 2 bands. BTW you can use a Raspberry pi with one of these using quisk which is one of the projects I'm working on as well. RPi, 7" touchscreen, and the OSDR. |

Their photography and website make it look like they're ashamed of it. They have a pretty good display at Dayton, odd that their website is so minimal. |
