It finally works! HOLY CRAP IT WORKS! I can hear people yaking!

The trick is to open up the ports to the computer the software is running on, and you still have to figure out how to get a speaker on it. I used the internal LS port to connect a small internal speaker, which gives the best fidelity D-Star has to offer (lol.)

I can't get it to transmit yet. :(

The TX-DCS doesn't even show that transmitting is a possibility. Any advice?

What software is that?  I use a DV Dongle all the time and my screen doesn't look anything like that.

It's not a dongle.

The RX-TRX light comes on in the software, and the TX light comes on in the actual unit when I key the mic, but nothing goes out over DCS or CCS.

The TX-DCS light doesn't come on. It's just not sending data out over the wire.

It would be a nice adapter if it was stand alone and didn't require internet..

Don't you have to register your call with DStar so the reflector or repeater allows you access?

It doesn't require the internet. You can hook it up to your radio and talk through it and get onto a DStar network

It can do either.

You can hook it up to a radio and use it as a digital modem, or as a standalone device.

You can't buy them anymore. That's the unfortunate thing, because if enough people used them to get a nice support network, it'd be awesome.

I'm not within range of any d-star repeaters from my house or shack, and I don't have a d-star radio at home anymore (only in the car), so in order to get into the repeater I'm actually the trustee for, I have to do something, lol.

Why do you think I gave it to gcw?  I'm the original sumbitch that paid $400 to have that POS shipped in to the US.  Did you check my soldering job on the header pins?  That was the only thing I ever really wondered about.  The yahoo group was useless.  They launched a dvrptr 3 like the week after my 2 arrived...
