So I'm thinking of trying out a skyloop antenna. I can drape a 40m version on my rooftop without many problems. The issue is my house is a walk out basement  2 story house. Meaning that the south facing side one end will be only about 9 feet high, the roof peak is 9 feet higher than that, and the north facing side (where the walkout is) will be 18 feet above ground level.

So here is my question, any NEC modeling I'm doing of this looks absolutely terrible on 40m and 20m relative to my g5rv jr antenna (inverted V confing on roof).

Any folks here using lower hanging 40m loops on 40 and 20m?

I put a 40 M  horizontal loop in my attic (1 story) and was about 30 db/9 a state away.  At it's fundamental frequency a horizontal loop will fire straight up and cover a few states around your area. NVIS in this case. 73, Rob

So how high in your attic, 10 ish feet off the ground?

The modeling is telling me, is that its basically a NVIS antenna on 40m, inferior to a dipole/g5rv on 20m, 15m/10m looks decently in terms of the lobes I just gotta figure out how to get them point the way I want.

I would like a better antenna for 40m or 40/80 since my G55RV jr is a pretty marginal one but this may or may not be it.

here is some real good information.
It covers both horz and vert antennas.

Certainly 10-14 feet above ground, not much more, I stapled it to the studs a couple feet off the floor.
