I'd like to add an antenna for receiving 100 KHz - 30 MHz

I'm considering the  Z1501 Active Antenna from Clifton Laboratories
or possibly something like the Pixel Technologies Active Magnetic Loop.

I really need to go with a design that shunts the antenna when I TX on my main antenna (I run 500 watts)
(I spoke with Clifton Labs and theirs does and I believe the Pixel does as well).

Does anyone have any experience with either antenna
or another they have used that also has the protection I need

Thank you

Clifton is local to me and makes a buffer circuit for IF taps. Everything I read on them is good.

I have seen the Pixie guy at Dayton and the performance there seems real good.

Another mag loop to look at is the wellbrook.

Mr_Harry, did you do the KBPF3MDKT mod?  And if so, how difficult was it to install the surface mount components?

Not yet I have the parts kit, I just need the time to put them in.

I do not see it as hard to do , but then again I've built a couple
a few surface mount kits so I've built up a little experience with it.

I use a strong magnifying glass/lamp and a magnifying visor.

It's not hard as long as you can see it clear
