I'm fighting to get my Signalink to play nicely with my Icom 706 (Original) also looking for suggestions for a good free digital program for PSK and the like. Trying to get this up and running for field day this year.
Main problem is I either have 0 power or my ALC is off the charts. Thanks Travis |

FLdigi worked for me, though I switched to a 7200 and don't need it anymore.
Getting everything tweaked just right is a hassle initially, but it does work. Make sure you have your programming header wired right. See here. |

I ran that setup for awhile. Do you have the correct jumper in the Signalink installed? I recall that the dials on the front of the Signalink had to be adjusted. Doublecheck the instructions. Sorry I can't be more help, it's been a while since I owned that combo. FLDigi is the way to go for s/w. Used it on a mac and it worked great. |

the trick is getting it to key correctly, which means you'll need to check the serial port for keying every time you use it. Linux/BSD tends to assign serial ports in order of initialization on boot, but IIRC OS X does it with the serial number of the serial controller chip. I forgot that the signalink is audio level keyed. Play with your audio levels. You need to disable PTT in whatever application you're using. |

Agreed, I set all my audio levels to mid range on the notion that the amplifiers will be more linear in the center of the adjustment and tweek as necessary. 73, Rob |
