I finally have an area to be called my Ham Shack.  Unfortunately it's only going to be a 2'x4' desk surface and above.  Previously I've been operating from a portable state in temporary locations.  I have accumulated quite a bit ancillaries for the hobby and need to maximize space for this stuff.  What have you done to store your gear?
I have one cable run that will be backed with plywood that will have a removable cover.  Coax and Surveillance/DVR lines will be here too. A dual flat panel Monitor mount will be encorporated in the design too.
Some pics of what I'm working with will be added shortly.
All walls will have plywood over the surface allowing for wall mounting of storage shelving etc in any possible location.

This area will be backed with plywood and have a removable front for access.

That's a great little spot...how about some simple shelving brackets and 12" deep shelves

There are several sizes of shelving tracks with different sized brackets that would work

If you don't need for them to be adjustable, screw 1"x3" strips into the studs on back and both sides, and cut shelves from 3/4" plywood stock. Lowe's and Home Depot also have pre-finished shelving that can be cut to size.

12" or 14" deep adjustable shelving is a strong quick and easy option.  But, I wouldn't rule out doing custom shelving and overhead cabinets either.
The desk surface will be a stained and varnished 1" thick glued spruce board.  The main PC will be mounted under the desk surface.
Space is tight so I will be welding up some of the mounting fixtures to maximize space as much as possible.

I took the suggestion here and went with shelving. Now I can go through my boxes and fill up the shelves.

Filling up shelves is never a problem.
Getting them cleaned up after a few years is more of a problem!
