I sold my Yaesu FT 8900 today and am in the market for a new Kenwood TM V71a.  Where is the best deal on my new radio?

AES
R&L
HRO
universal radio
MTC
giga parts
etc.

I typically look at these and go with which ever has the cheapest shipped price

then I think about who is close enough to ship fast, but out of state so I don't have to pay tax

( they get enough of my money )

Excellent radio and as stated
MTC Radio
Or R&L electronics.
Once you learn the layout on the radio you will wonder why all radios are not this simple to operate.
Get the programing cable and use chirp software or the free Kenwood software that you can down load on their website.

Diamond SG 7500 or if heights does not bother you the Diamond SG 7900.
Both antennas will do excellent. Of course you will have to get the mount you want for the type vehicle you have.

I'm in love!   I've had my Kenwood TM V71a for a couple of days now along with a Diamond SG 7500 antenna and I must say that this is the radio I've been looking for.  So user friendly, simple and intuitive.   Sound quality is typical Kenwood hi fidelity.  Overall just what I needed.  Anyone on the fence about this radio... I give it 2 thumbs up.

$499.95 !

No way I'd ever pay that much for VHF/UHF mobile

for that price it better be HF all mode.

That's a perfect combo, The v71 and the SG 7500 go togeather like a perfect match. The SG 7900 and the ICOM IC-V8000 are also an excellent combination.

No Sir.
I did not

maybe you have me mixed up with the OP

Around here, VHF/UHF is mostly old farts blathering on about Denny's vs. Bob Evans for 15:00pm supper, or moaning about there health problems.

I have a lot more fun on HF
