I just compiled it from source. I was having problems with the one provided in the package manager.

I was excited to see that now there is a freq manager included. It even overlays the name on the display and is researchable via a "tagging" system.

Thanks for the vid GCW.

off topic: My daughters BF is a USMC commo guy, we had some good radio discussions. A week before he was reassigned back east I learned he was a hardcore linux user. I kinda miss him.

Not my video, just on of the best 101 ones. Dependencies are a "B" and I like that he shows that.

Where was he sent? Shoot me an IM if you want.

Watching 3 different repeater QSOs going on.

For those who aren't familiar with SDRs right now I am recording all 3 QSOs at the same time. I can go back latter and listen to them individually. The neat thing about recording "IQ" is that say someone starts transmitting AM it records that too. If you were recording audio with something like a scanner you are only going to get what the scanner demodulated. This becomes really handy in the air bands and on CB where some is AM and some is SSB.

Being able to "see" the band brings a whole new world. I caught a 2m simplex net last night I had no idea about because I saw the signal pop up as I was rag chewing on the repeater.

I have some interference because I was trouble shooting my coax and didn't get it all back just right. The signals are the vertical lines that have little spurs on them.

I've never had a problem with the package on either Arch or Ubuntu base.

Compile…

./configure (not always present)
make
sudo make install

Of course, you generally have to unpack it first.

I'm in the middle of trying to find kernel sources to make dahdi and asterisk happy.

Arch is a little different, but with the Ubuntu packages you aren't getting the newest version. The one I compiled has the new bookmark feature and  the one in the repos doesn't, not even in the gqrx ppa.

What are you building asterisk on? Foxxz and I just built one the other day, he is the guy to ask about asterisk.

True. 9/10 you can find what you need on the AUR. Only ham related item I haven't found on the AUR is the most of the dependencies for the linux-winlink program (which hasn't been updated in about 10 years to begin with).

Trying to compile Asterisk 1.4 on a Raspberry Pi.

I have been running the project source straight out of QT Creator for a while now. I didn't even know there was an update to the project, I gave up checking on it after a year or so. Good to know it's back gqrx is good stuff.
