I have been looking for caps like that for mine.  I was using rubber caps but they get lost.  Cool find.

I saw some of those online somewhere and thought "that is cool" but they were like $5 each so... I don't have any

These were 3 for $5. The guy I bought them from is Dennis and he is a huge .mil radio guy. He had some cool stuff. Not only did I get the caps but he had a flush mount sma to bnc adapter, bnc elbow, and bnc 5/8 wave AEA telescopic whip. I have been hitting repeaters all over, but being 2400 ft helps.

Okay, so it's about the BNC caps. I was wondering why you'd buy a half of a KX3.

Nice setup. It's a heck of a job to get dirt out of a BNC connector.

Then there was the guy in our ham club whose HT fell off of his belt and into a porta-potty. And you know what a porta-potty at a hamfest is like.
He retrieved it, washed it out, and all it took was a new loudspeaker to make it work again. From then on it was known as the 'toilet-talkie'.

It was a good ham fest, and nice to meet you GCW.   I would still like to get the info and see if i can use the batteries in my box we talked bout.
