After some link-wandering from my earlier post about my storm box, I ended up reading pcsutton's AAR for COM-T.

I'm taking COM-L (Communications Unit Leader) next week. Somehow I doubt it's going to be quite as hands-on and geardo as COM-T, but ... I'll be taking lots of notes. I'll try for an AAR of my own. Hopefully I can get work to approve COM-T at some point in the future!

Sounds like fun. I'm doing ICS-300 and 400 this summer, found one that is being held on a weekend instead of during the week. Down side is that it's 200 miles away But a lot easier to get Friday off work than two days in the middle.

Halfway through the class. Most of the stuff we're doing is not ham-relevant; far more of an admin/management course. Good information on a professional basis, but probably not terribly interesting to folks here.

On the plus side, it looks like The Powers That Be are working on developing an AuxComm curriculum to get more hams on the same NIMS/ICS page as the groups they'd be supporting. Of course, using these AuxComm groups is going to be a local thing, and I hope many/most areas are able to start working past and through the "you don't do it OUR way so YOU'RE WRONG" attitude... and that attitude comes from BOTH sides of the table.

Hams working within an incident command structure can be a hell of a useful tool...

I've got a lot more thoughts on this I need to organize and write out. Stay tuned; it might be a while but I'll try to put something in here.

COM-L here for my employment, class is hands on of how to fill out forms that is the extent of hands on, not really playing with radios much at least in my class.  Great information for the class lots of great networking in my class as well.

Ditto. It's a feather in the cap, especially if I manage to get the tasklist complete. Trying to find a COMT class now, and that's not proving easy.

Yeah I am working on the task list which is no easy task in my area either.  I have the joy of being a dispatcher and the COM-L(T) in my Sheriff's Office and we have a mobile command post.  So this is why I got sent plus my 10 years as Army Radio work....and I enjoy it.  Plus having my HAM ticket.
