Any ideas? I run linux, not windows, and I refuse to pay for HRD.

I've looked at the "PigRemote" but it's not finished yet.

Why not just download a free version of HRD? Does HRD have a Linux version?

because I don't run windows.

Sounds like you need to pick up an old box from a yard sale for $25 just to control your radio. The older version of HRD is still free, it just doesnt have any support.

I know, I still have to pay for windows though, and I refuse to do so. I know that I could use HRD 5.x, but it's not worth it when I factor in the cost of the windows license.

Just pick up a used computer off Craigslist or eBay? You don't need a ton of processing power and it would allow you to do what you want without too much cash out of hand.

Or you can just buy a yard sale pc that works for $25ish bucks and use the windows that is running on that box. Just make a recovery CD and dont hook it up to the internet. Load up 5.x HRD and go have digital fun. Why make it so hard?

I see where you are coming from. I'm a software developer by trade so I certainly can see what people don't like about it...but, in this case, it is really just a tool.
For this use, it is an excellent tool and works very well.

I'm running Mac OSX and using FLDIGI and FLRigRunner to remote control an IC-7100.  Works great, and is a free product, they have a build for "little UNIX" too

You need to run fldigi. That will fix all you problems. Fldigi + Mac = problem solved.

Same here, which is why I don't want to see it when I get home...

Well,  never mind I just picked up an X1M Pro to scratch the itch when I'm not home.
