The old "Ham Shack Pics" thread is archived and since I'm a '13er I'm not sure if its possible to post there.

Anyhow, purchased a new camera and didn't have anything to shoot so I took a picture of the rig.

Trying to get a picture to use for my QSL card.  I have a lot to get out and the person that was going to do them for me backed out.  Sorry for those I still owe a card to.

That's purdy.

Now, what's this "13er" shit I've been seeing lately?
I don't go into GD, just here and the Iowa Hometown Forum so not in any loops.
WTF?

That would be a very nice pic for a QSL card.  I can send you a template I use that is in Word format that prints 4 per page but you'll need to change the background photo and sender info.  IM me your email if you want it.

Any 13er with a 7600 is a good 13er in my book!

A "13er" is somebody who joined arfcom in '13 during the panic.  It's not a compliment in some circles.

That's a quality picture.  What kind of camera did you get?

Looks like an Icom sale photo!

Nice looking radio......that is for a 13er!

When you take the pic for your QSL card you should set the freq to 7.175.01 just to drive the OCD people nuts

great pic

Wondering what camera ?

I'm a PENTAX SLR / DSLR Driver

I use this website
http://www.radioqth.net/qslcards

save to a thumb, and walk into my local Office Depot. they can print them while you wait

I think you have to pay the $20 or whatever to become a bronze member to search the archives, nothing to do with start date.

I doubt you'll get any " you're a 13'er " crap on the ham forum.  I never understood the obsession with join date, and post count that the kids on GD squawk about.

It's not how much you post,.....it's the content that counts, and your content is...well fine and dandy....that is a great photo

Very nice quality photo! I have an old 4 megapixel Cannon I bought umpteen years ago I still use. Not the best, but since my kids are gone, I take maybe a dozen photos a year, if that.

Thanks guys.

The camera is a Nikon D800.  24-70mm 2.8 lens.

The photo is actually a composite of two images.  I had to exposure for the radio and then for the screen.  Photoshopped the correctly exposed screen on top of the other.

Yea the pixels don't match up

Just kidding, that looks better than 99.9% of stock photos out there. I am really impressed

WOW, This makes me all the more content that I have never ventured outside of the HAM/OHIO/ELECTRONIC forums here.
(I did go to GD, but only because the '45 Bucks' thread was linked from here.)

I welcome all the newcomers to this activity (AR and HAM), after dealing for decades with 'gun owners' who are so apathetic I want to cry, it is nice to see new energy come into this fight.

ROCK ON '13s (and 12s an 11s and 10s and 9s and 8s and 7s and . . .  back to whenever I joined)!!

JLE

They may not.  I used the pen selection tool, so it should be fairly close but it was a quick and dirty shop.

I love it.  It does way more than I need.  I was trying to decide between it and the 756 Pro III, but just bit the bullet and got what I wanted.

Ha!  Well I don't think there was another way of getting the exposure right for both the rig and screen.
