| I missed the last test in Nashville (specifically at the crieve hall church of christ) because of the evil work problem we all have. I checked the aarl site which has the next one at march 3rd. I am wondering if any of the testers could do one earlier and I would come to them at their leisure. Hopefully some hams from the area are on here. |

I could be wrong but I think there needs to be 3 officials present to judge/grade and certify everything. That's how it was for me. Not sure you are going to get three guys able to do that for you. -Emt1581 |

The problem with test sessions are getting VEs (Volunteer Examiners) to show up. Also due to the rules, the VEs almost have to be Extras or they can't administer the Extra test.
You may have to travel a bit, but I'm sure there's a test somewhere sooner than that. |

ARRL
Input the state of TN and see which ones are close. There's a few coming up next week in Knoxville and other areas if you're willing to drive a bit. ETA, this looks like it might be pretty close for you: Smithville |

ARRL VE here. There has to be 3 VEs to administer the test. A General can administer a Tech test. Only Extras can administer General and Extra tests. I was going to take Tech/General at the same time. I might just hold out till march and take all 3 at once. That will give me more time to study extra. |

Specifically ask if all three VEs will be Extras. Otherwise you will only be able to take Tech. While my test team has one General, I have this VE assist on the Tech tests for the experience for now.
Yes, try to take as many as you can pass in one session. And good luck to you! |
