One of 5 MARS in Afghanistan, and as far as I know, the only one in the service. You are also famous in the Dec issue of QST too. Do what now? It was mentioned in QST magazine, that you were on the air in Afghanistan, as T6EC. Oh, and Merry Christmas! |

He briefly interviewed me for an article. |

Yes, they got that from the Daily DX. Also, I heard back from Elecraft and my KXPA100 ships Friday. |

http://cdn3.volusion.com/zqhdx.mmwva/v/vspfiles/photos/10098-2T.jpg?1374137490 Thank you. It would almost certainly work better than the extra length Buddistick I'm using, but I'm using a vertical because I have absolutely no place to hang a dipole / wire antenna. My living quarters are in the middle of a sea of shipping container living quarters with nowhere to hang anything for hundreds of yards. Current antenna
And no, I can't use the massive tower in the background.

Well...if things change, and you can find a place for it, let me know. Too bad I traded off a HUSTLER 40-10 trap vertical, I'd send you that, and it would work very well. 73 and Merry Christmas
Thanks for your service to this fine Nation Thank you, It's my pleasure. I have a 6BTV at the house that I can't wait to see what the KX3 does hooked up to it, but that would be a bit too much antenna to be lugging around Afg in a dufflebag. Plus I only have 97 days left. Not messing with a new setup at this point. |

Army MARS recently directed that it's members no longer publicly divulge their membership. OPSEC I suppose. Membership in MARS isn't a secret, however MARS does make it clear that its members do not advertise with MARS logo advertisements on sites like QRZ or speak on behalf of MARS in anything other than an official capacity. Directly from the training manual. Do not represent Army MARS on any webpage you own, or posts you make on other
websites. Unless specifically authorized and tasked, you are not to make any public statements on behalf of Army MARS. This sort of advertising is unnecessary and unauthorized. This includes creating websites, chat forums, blogs, journalistic articles, etc. |
