Ok, this might sound stupid, but bare with me:
When doing a digital mode (in this case Olivia and JT9) do you see power out on an SWR meter or the radio's power out meter if equipped? I can see power with AM carrier and on a CW key down, but when I transmit on digital I see nothing. The transmitter is definitely keying. I have a feeling no data/sound is being sent which is my problem. I would expect meter movement but maybe the signal is too weak or something. |

Just got back to the shack, and saw this in the RX buffer: Testing Testing de sburggsx sburggsx sburggsx pse k You're getting out! |

I figured *some* of it out. First thing is the fact I was using CAT for PTT. Everything was working except actual signal out. I needed to add a second serial adapter and do PTT by the soundcard interface. (The little light not going red was the clue.) Once that happened I saw forward power out.
I may also have an SWR issue .... another problem for another afternoon. |
