It is too dark for pics tonight, but should have some tomorrow. This was the test beta I have a few ideas for the next one.

Bill of materials;

Stinger-
1 x 10' military whip -~$10 Ebay link (make sure it has the adapter)
1 x 10' stick of 1/2" copper pipe -$13
5 x 1/2" copper pipe caps -$3.50
1 x 3/8 24 x .5 bolt -~$.50
1 x 3/8 24 x 1.5 bolt -$.50
3 x 3/8 24 nuts -$.50
3 x 3/16 eye bolts -$2
3 x wing nuts -$1

Counterpoise
1 x 20' 14ga wire -$2

Base-
1 x 10' stick of 1/2" CPVC -$3
1 x 1/2 cpvc coupler - $.50
3 x 1/2 cpvc T's -$2
3 x 1/2 cpvc 45 elbows -$2
4 x 1/2 cpvc caps -$2

Guying
6 x S binders -$6
1 x 550 cord -$5
4 x tent stakes -$2

Junction
1 x SO239 chassis mount -$4
1 x project box -$3

$62.50 (I think I have about $40 into it after I looked around the shop)

One of the things I learned is that the buddistick deluxe at $175 is a pretty fair deal. I still  have to make a trap to get it to 40m, however this is a full 1/4w 20m antenna from the get go. Also I think the next one I will solder the bolts in place inside the cap

all together it is a small package that doesn't weigh too much and is fun to build.

More pics, and let us know how it works out.

I have a few military antennas in my garage that I keep saying I will do something with.

Nice!  I love home made antennas.  Looking forward to hearing the results from getting on the air with it.
