Test session last night. Older fellow, about 70, a retired Navy and commercial "brass hat" diver. Jumped right on into ham radio. Got his Tech license a few months ago after a month study, and just now passed General. Studied the Gordon West books and did online practice tests. He said he did better on the real test than on the practice tests.
And for club station work, a real pleasure to work with. A lot of practical hands on experience through the years. Marine radio and other comm experience, mil and industrial. He whizzed through the exam in under 15 minutes. "Do you want to check over your answers?" we asked. "No, it's best to go with your first instinct. Here." And handed us the test. And he's full of piss and vinegar. A lot of fun! |
