You've got some very bored and hungry squirrels!
I have a large walnut tree so I have a lot of squirrels, and a Beverage antenna running on top pf my privacy fence posts. The antenna wire is in their way and they've only nibbled at the insulation and haven't really damaged anything. They've never touched the nylon ropes hooked to the tree and fence posts that support my other wire antennas either. |
| Dang tree rats they are an invasive varmint up in western Oregon and I sure don't miss 'em down here. There are some enclaves of prairie dogs and I guess they can be about as bad in their own way but right here there are enough snakes to keep them and the doves thinned out. Up north my old cat got enough of the squirrels that we sure noticed after he died . It takes a young cat some time to acquire the skills necessary to be a good squirrel killing machine but eventually they learn how to pick them off with ease. |

I had one up on my vhf antenna last night, dogs were raising hell. I went inside to put on my shoes and figure out how to deal with it when I had a knock on my door. It was a neighbor who lived behind me. She asked if I could put the dogs up so the squirrel could get away.
She had freakin binoculars in her hand and said she was watching it. I have a few few old security cams that didn't survive a lightening strike. I think one will go up on the chimney. |

I had a squirrel take down my antenna twice before I took him down. Shoot the squirrel! I wish it was only one squirrel I have re-done it with a solid porcelin insulator, safety wire over all the connections, cayenne peppered the hell out of it ... we'll see |
