Ham Radio: doing the most edition.

I have to admit I've thought about the same thing, only with one of those S9 verticals and a drive-on base.  Much cheaper, and could be completely hidden inside the vehicle when it's not being used.

Hogged gas

The 750 watt Henry amp behind the seat makes it bad assed. No wimpy mobile signal on 40m with that station.

Trying to find pics of my IC-706mkiig install.

I put it in a TUFFY stereo center console.
It was cool as hell...really secure

Kinda like this...

I had to grind away some of the steel to make the 706 fit in the DIN housing.

It was a lot of fun, my kids LOVED it.

but with less than 60,000 miles on it, it died twice on the side of the highway, and the interior was falling apart.

It was like that really hot old girlfriend who was really fun to ride, but unreliable.

Looks like he has different hf antenna configurations. A base loaded vertical and an end fed center loaded wire.  Over complicated? Had tons of aluminum and DeLeon laying around?

Like his idea but think it could be done with less complications.

Very nice.  I love Jeeps.  Still own a 1998 Grand Cherokee. It's been by far the most reliable and very durable vehicle,
unlike my 2010 Tacoma piece of shit.

I have a 78 CJ5 and a 54 M38A1 Willy's. I need more pockets, because I have emptied mine a few times on each of them.
