I've had Two eQSL SWL reports in the past few days.

I look up the contact that they heard me on and if correct confirm the report and thank them.

Anyone else getting them?

bunch of them

I've even got SWL  PSK  and RTTY QSL's

Seems weird that a guy who go thru the trouble to get setup for digital, just to monitor

I think some countries require SWL before ham

SWL eQSL Card

I had a QSO on 40m PSK31 this evening with a Canadian station. Got an immediate eQSL confirmation card from him.
But I also got my first SWL eQSL confirmation card from a station in The Netherlands.

Received another SWL QSL card. I had a PSK-31 contact with a Russian station that was also received by this SWL station in France.

A French, "Air Mobile", QSL/SWL card.

Something new for me... NOT an SWL eQSL card, but a WSPR eQSL card: I haven't played with WSPR for months. And I sure didn't keep log of the many WSPR contacts I've had.

Last night had a PSK-31 QSO with a Canadian station. Apparently, "Boris" from Russia (no kidding) was SWL'ing and sent this eQSL card.

I think you are right on that one.

Mine have been for JT65 contacts.

It's still fun getting them

I have even received a number of SWL reports through the Bureau.

Not sure what the proper return QSL is, but I always send my QSL back, thanking them and just 'strike out' contact portions of the QSL...

Guy goes to the trouble to let me know he heard my signal, sends me a card...  I'm going to send one back...

For his report I have been entering SWL
and then put "Thanks for the SWL Report"

Seems to make sense to me.

I used to listen, rather, watch PSK31 before I became licensed.  As simple as putting a computer mic in front of the receiver's speaker.  I used velcro.  I was reading Italy, Israel, Spain, Germany, UK, France, Denmark.  Amazing!  One of my first endeavors after becoming licensed was to do digital.

I've received eQSLs from European SWL'ers.  I reply, as well as mail them a regular QSL.

Never got one.  But usually I'm responding to someone else's CQ.  It's pretty rare when I'm the one calling CQ.

I have a question about these eQSL SWL reports. They're essentially an electronic certificate saying that the SWL (short wave listener?) heard you (QSL)?

Seems odd to me as a long time shortwave listener to send out QSL cards.

Not at all.  Long time custom.

In some countries a wannabe ham must be a SWL for a period of time and log stations heard, get confirmations (QSLs).  They are assigned a special call sign as a SWL.

And listeners to regular broadcast stations used to send signal reports to the station engineer, who would send back a station card.  Not at all unusual or strange.

That is exactly what they appear, It was pretty cool to get them

I have received SWL's for both voice and PSK31 contacts.  To me, they are more fun than standard QSL's - because I am not expecting them.  I am always sure to thank SWL's for their signal reports when sending a card back.
