From a large club in neighboring Louisiana:

Greetings fellow hams,

This Saturday May 11th is a GOKIT day for our club.  As part of our club's EmComm training, some of our club members will set up their rigs and operate portable using battery or generator power and NVIS antennas.  The purpose of the exercise is to make HF contacts statewide with minimum power using voice and digital modes.  This training allows us to experiment with antennas, while learning the capabilities and limitations of our equipment.  We are looking for hams statewide that could give us signal reports or exchange digital messages using FLDIGI,  FLMSG, or FLAMP.   If you are interested in helping us, or if you know of another ham that is willing to help us please contact me via email or cell phone so I can provide you with the times, frequencies, and digital modes we will be using.  The training will take place Saturday mid morning on 40 and/or 80 meters.

If you are in neighboring states, TX, OK, AR, MS or even further, you might want to listen for them.  They will be doing some PSK31, but mostly phone.  By midmorning 80 meters will be down, and 40 meters will be up.
