I am just curious how many of us ARFCOMers use LOTW?

Yes, but it was a PITA to set up.  In HRD and DM780, it sure is a lot tougher than eQSL to get it to upload automatically after a QSO.   I usually try to upload on Sundays to keep up.

So true but is worth it. I upload every night to every other day.

I just started to use it this year and really like it.

Upload every day or two if I've been on the air.

It was a bit frustrating to get set up, but it is nice and simple now that it is working...

I upload logs once a week, every Sunday evening....

Seam to be averaging right at 30% confirmation with LoTW..

Again, real convenient and simple once you get past the initial cussing and throwing things stage....

I'm at a 34% QSL rate now, but for the last month I've been picking my QSO's and only working new contacts that do LOTW.

I'll work any new grid, state, country, etc, but I seem to be obsessed with working those that confirm on LOTW now.

The 30% that Mndless stated is what I was at before when all QSO's were random.

I thought the initial setup was no big deal, but I'm used to working with Telco's and others that make me jump through stupid hoops to do something that should be simple.

I'll work anybody to fill that slot in the log. LoTW or direct it doesn't matter. I won't pass up that new band/state just because he doesn't do LoTW. It just means I have to do it the old fashioned way.

With that said I can't explain why I have a 58% confirmation rate in LoTW. Maybe because I do a lot of digital modes and those ops tend to use LoTW more than CW and phone. Don't know, just guessing.

I love LoTW for one big reason. Reduced cost. For what I've spent in postage, IRCs, envelopes, and printer ink I could have bought a really nice used HF rig. On the other hand I eagerly check the PO box twice a week to see what new treasures in QSL cards awaits.

I've put some logs there or so I thought. Never saw them show up

Does it work?

To see what the status of your upload log files is.....
-Log onto LoTW
-From the homepage click "Your Account" on the right on the upper menu bar.
-Click "Your Activity" on the left menu.
-Up comes a list of files uploaded. Pick one and click "Result".

Make sure you sign your log with TQSL prior to upload. Raw ADIF files will be automatically discarded by the system and will not show up in the uploaded file list. I know cause I've done this. Then give the system about 24 hours to process. Sometimes it's quicker but I usually give it a day then check back. After a heavy contest weekend the system can take a few days to process all the logs.

I have tried multiple times to set the darn thing up and I finally gave up.  I would like to use it but I can't figure out how to register.

guys,

. . . . find an elmer, or email ARRL and figure it out.

LoTW is the way to go.

I still love getting DX QSL's in the mail,  but LoTW is the future of DX confirmation.
