Quoted: You live close enough that you could drive over for a day. I'm further away than you and have done that many times. Find some ham friends. Leave about 5 am. Stop for breakfast and still get there by the time it opens on Saturday morning. Leave Hamvention at 5 pm and you are still home in time to tuck the kids in bed. Quoted: Quoted: You going to Dayton this year?Sweet ride, KM. I keep saying that I need to go, but work and family keep getting in the way. I'll have to be content reading the after action reports you guys post. |

That is a sweet ride and you are an inspiration to geeks everywhere!
I must say one thing though: the method with which you have secured your solar panel could be sub-optimal. Those bungee cords going across the cells don't cast much of a shadow, but it enough to significantly alter the output of the panel. I urge you to hook a meter up to the output of the panel and check the voltages with and without those shadows from the cords. You might be surprised by how much a little shadow can affect the output. Of course it's a much bigger problem on a less-than-ideal day (PV wise) like the cloudy conditions (I think) in your photos. |
