Right now I'm still in the planning phases. I park in parking garages so permanent tall antennas are out (my factory FM radio antenna scrapes in a few of the garages  ).
What I'm planning is installing a tool box in the bed (I've been wanting one anyway). I'm going to mount a deep cycle marine battery in there and possibly the body of the radio with a heating pad for the winter. The antennas (UHF and HF) will be mounted on server controlled foldover mounts to the box so I don't have to drill in the body of the truck. |

The main thing is figuring out how tall the antenna will be and how far it would stick out past the tailgate. |
