Well I should have everything by early next week for my all mode, all band V/UHF, HF mobile !!  Found a great deal on a FT-100D
that will be hooked up to an antenex V/UHF nmo and little tarheel 2.  Will be hooked up to a itronix gobook 3 running HRD and DM780 using west mountain radio
rig blaster plug and play!   So maybe by next weekend I can do some mobile digital work on HF and V/UHF !!

eta: I'll get some pics up as soon as I get this stuff!

Update:
Got the radio, rigblaster, 2m/70cm antenna and laptop. Still waiting on remote mount kit for radio, waiting on my laptop power cord. Also waiting on my little tarheel 2!  Now I gotta find a laptop mount!

Update : 6/28
I have my antenna's installed and thought id share!

Had laptop issues so I am still not able to mount anything! Radio is just laying in the floor board!  Soon as I get all the stuff mounted I will get pics!

Update:
Still waiting on the laptop!  Everything is done though!  Once I get the laptop I should be able to plug the Rigblaster in and mess around with some settings and I will be on the digital bands!
I'll get some pics once I stick the laptop in!

What about the finals?  Are they prone to some particular problem(s) such as overheating or something?
The ft100faq site I found did mention a problem with solder flux left behind.  Is this the issue?
(FT-100 FAQ)
I'm asking not because I have a FT-100 but because finding out about these kinds of issues is one of the ways I've been trying to learn.
When doing a search I saw an entry the mentioned frying their finals but firewalls at work blocked the site.
thx.

That is the same setup I run in my vehicle. FT-100D with Little Tarheel II. Works great. I have made a lot of contacts with it on 10, 12 and 15 meters.

I am taking the FT-100D and my FT-817ND to field day this weekend.

I almost bought a clean used one a few years ago
I asked the dealer if there were any known issues and he said
The final output transistors were no longer being made
Yaesu confirmed it so I passed and bought something else

If you blow the finals....you have a nice receiver

Any nobody's currently manufactured output transitor can be used as a suitable substitute?  Or does that violate an FCC type acceptance rule?
Are there rules against unauthorized modifications of amateur radio equipment if it didn't start as a home-brew?
Like there are rules against mods of CB radios  and barrels and trigger groups on Evil Black Rifles (because everyone "knows" that short barrel rifles are more dangerous to the stability of our society than allowing corporations to buy politicians donate money to express their opinions.
Oops, sorry for the soap box.

This might sound stupid, but hell it wouldn't be the first time I said something stupid.  Do people operate digital while driving?

ya, people like AR Jedi just hiss PSK-31 through their teeth and decode it in their head.

APRS definitely qualifies as this (transmits position updates, displays nearby units.)

I'd think the accident rate for someone tuning MFSK16 would be way higher than texting while driving, though.

If you consider CW as digital, then quite a number of people operate digital while driving.

I ran across a website once that had CW keys with legbands and leg-boards, like a pilot uses, that had keys mounted for 'keying whilst driving'. I was like:

Myself to get on the air
I worked a guy driving a truck with a paddle velcro'd to his
Leg.  I thought.   Hell if he can drive and work CW.....
